Upgrading a System To Release 7.4.x with a DVD

You can upgrade a system, with or without external storage, from everRun Release 7.3.4.0 to Release 7.4.x using a DVD.

Caution: If your system has external storage, you must call Stratus Customer Assistance to perform an upgrade to everRun Release 7.4.x.
Prerequisites:
Note: Upgrading from Release 7.3.4 to 7.4.x may take approximately two hours depending on the complexity of your configuration. You cannot use the everRun Availability Console while the upgrade is in progress, but the everRun Availability Console may display informational or error messages as part of the procedure.

The procedure includes shutting down VMs and then sequentially on each node: putting the node in maintenance mode, shutting down the node, powering on the node and using the BIOS setup utility to boot from DVD and then recover the node. Note that you cannot use the UEFI setup utility to upgrade from a DVD.
