This topic describes how to upload an upgrade kit and then use the kit to upgrade everRun software. (If you want to upgrade a system with a DVD, see Upgrading a System To Release 7.4.x with a DVD.)
To upgrade the system using an upgrade kit
After the upload is complete, the message Kit uploaded successfully. Click OK to close the wizard.
The Upgrade Kits page now lists the state and version number of the upgrade kit. The Upgrade and Delete buttons also appear with the Add a Kit button.
Click Qualify to verify that your system meets the requirements of the upgrade kit. (This step is recommended, but not required.) After a minute or two, a message appears stating whether or not the kit qualified successfully. If the qualification succeeds, continue with the next step.
If the qualification fails, log on to the host operating system of each PM and see the /var/opt/ft/log/unity_upgrade.log file to determine the cause. For example, if there is not enough disk space to complete the upgrade, a message will indicate Insufficient free space and report the amount of space needed. If you need help resolving a qualification issue, search for the qualification error message in the Knowledge Base in the Stratus Customer Service Portal at https://support.stratus.com.
Click Upgrade to upgrade the everRun system.
First, the everRun software upgrades and reboots the secondary PM. The newly upgraded PM becomes primary, and then the everRun software upgrades and reboots the other PM.
